About Datacide

Datacide is a magazine that covers experimental electronic music, from the avantgarde to hard dance music, its intersections with radical politics and counterculture, in-depth political and historical analysis and critique as well as experimental fiction, poetry and visual works. In each issue there is an extensive record review section as well as detailed book reviews, comics and news items.

Datacide is not affiliated with or part of any specific political group but engages in a revolutionary critique that rejects the historically discredited strains of leftism associated with Social Democracy and Leninism, drawing instead on the rich heritage of dissident Marxism, libertarian communism and critical theory.

Datacide is a critical voice in the increasingly irrational and rightward lurching ‘posttruth’ times of conspiratorial world views and identity politics.

YouTube Video VVVlUW9lZFFkaDJPbnFLc05odGRISFN3LlQwUDV3WWhoTkEw Bourbonese Qualk live at the End of the Year Party organised by Bar Sate & Ritual Damage at the 121 Centre in Railton Road in Brixton, London. Original footage filmed by Nomex.

We publish here for the first time the complete footage of the BQ live set in all its grainy, distorted, low-res glory!

Bourbonese Qualk had at this point just released three releases on Praxis, the two 12" EPs 'Kneejerk Reaction' (Praxis 2) and 'Qual' (Praxis 3) and the album Autonomia (Praxis 5, at the time only released on CD).

The event was taking place in the ground floor of the Anarchist Centre at Railton Road and, besides the live PA by BQ, featured DJs Miles Miles, Sparker, and Christoph Fringeli. As you can see we're playing in the corner where the infoshop was.

Soon after this event we started the Dead by Dawn events in the same venue, the main dancefloor was moved from the infoshop/ground floor to the basement.

Also check out the short video showing the Beginning of the Night of the same event.

Alligator Flavor Crocodile Bile 4 (The Last Pour) by 0bleak, exclusive mix for the new Praxis/Noise & Politics DJ mix series, November 2023.

Join us for an epic and cutting-edge mix by DJ 0bleak featuring artists from a number of different regions of the world in a sonic adventure that captures the zeitgeist and transcends genre with its range of sounds and styles from East and South Africa to North America, from Near East to Far East.

While the mix remains cohesive, it contains music as diverse as a South African gqom artist remixing an experimental artist from China, to Iranian-Canadian brothers Mohammad and Mehdi Mehrabani collaborating with Eomac from Ireland, to the group SŌN re-imagining the music of avant-garde Indonesian duo, Senyawa.

However, before you go on this ride, be forewarned: Nothing essential happens in the absence of noise!
